As a Volunteer Chaplain, you will share your gifts of calm, compassionate presence and attentive listening to help meet the spiritual and emotional needs of patients, families and staff. By offering spiritual support using a patient-led, interfaith approach to help patients find strength through their own resources, you may find your own spiritual journey enriched. Volunteer Chaplains are supported and mentored by the hospital Chaplain, and their care is deeply appreciated by the hospital community. 1 unit of CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) or equivalent pastoral training is preferred. Volunteers receive orientation and training. The application process includes a TST (TB screening) and a flu shot (in season) offered at no cost to the volunteer. Free parking for volunteers.

With regard to COVID-19. The hospital maintains protocols to maximize the safety of all who enter our hospitals and facilities. All visitors, employees, vendors, volunteers must wear masks, adhere to screening process when entering the hospital, wash hands and keep social distance.

The hospital is a 329-bed inpatient complex in West Chester, PA. Chartered in 1892 as a 10-bed dispensary, the hospital has been serving Chester County and its surrounding communities for more than 125 years.
