We are looking for experienced sewers to help sew youth costumes from given patterns/designs by our costume designer. Costumes are needed for two of our upcoming musicals: "Shrek The Musical" performed in August at Derby Academy in Hingham by students in grades 3-9, and "Cabaret" performed in July at Boston College High School in Boston by studnets grades 9-12. Students rehearse in Plymouth and are from all over the greater South Shore area.

Break a Leg Theater is redefining youth performing arts through innovative programming aimed at providing opportunities to participate in highly impactful experiences. The non-profit organization connects youth from diverse communities and provides direct access to engage and learn from experienced Broadway and Hollywood talent. From brilliant musical productions, to exceptional technical trainings and master classes, the results are nothing short of remarkable.

The rigorous curriculum is guided by its core values of integrity, kindness and inclusion and is designed to give students the tools needed to lead on and off the stage. Break a Leg believes that all students deserve the opportunity to be heard and to be part of a supportive and accepting community.

Please join us in our effort to shine a spotlight on our youth and help prepare them for a lifetime of achievements and leadership opportunities. We need your help to make this a reality.

Description

Hello Friends,

We are Break a Leg Theater Works, a 501c3 non-profit that has been serving the South Shore area for a little over 2 1/2 years. Currently, our company has almost 70 students ages 8-18 representing over 35 schools all over the South Shore. We have done 7 cabarets, had 3 semesters of classes, taken 4 field trips, and worked with approximately 10 Broadway & Hollywood Stars in the brief time that we have been in existence. We are now embarking on our first 2 musicals, "The Little Mermaid" & "Sunset Boulevard" which an exciting and huge undertaking.

As we grow, we need help from our community to make sure that any student interested in the performing arts will have an opportunity to participate in our program and also learn from the Broadway & Hollywood talent we have been fortunate to work with. From "Hamilton" to "The Young & The Restless" to "Frozen: The Musical" we have had over a myriad of professional actors teach and perform with our students. We are just getting started and we hope to work with many local creative individuals to continue to bring the highest quality in performing arts education and performance to the students, families and greater community of the South Shore. We are just getting started, and your support is greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Break a Leg Theater Works
