The Museum collection and archives are the backbone of the institution. Working in this area, volunteers would be responsible for assisting with cataloging and caring for collection items as well as researching topics for new in house and traveling exhibits. Collections volunteers also assist in mounting changing exhibits and assembling traveling exhibits.Volunteers must be organized and detail-oriented. It is imperative that items are cataloged correctly and that research is thorough.The volunteer will be trained in areas that he or she will be working in. A background in collections work or watches and clocks a plus.

Description
The National Watch and Clock Museum is a center of learning, research, and education sustained by the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Inc. (NAWCC). Focusing on the study of time, the preservation of timepieces and their intimate relationship to all human activity. The museum collection includes more than 14,000 timepieces ranging from sundials to atomic clocks.
