What?
Happily Ever After is looking for volunteers to assist with the finishing touches on the construction our decks at our brand-new cottages in Marion, WI. We are looking for individuals who are somewhat handy and/or are willing to learn to assist with construction.

When?
Workdays will occur on Saturday 6/22 and Saturday 6/29. Start time (both days) will be 9:00 AM in Marion, and the forecasted end-time is 4:00 PM. We will provide a list of tools for you to bring (if possible, but not required).

Why?
The Marion Cottages are an important piece of HEA’s vision and the future of animal welfare for several reasons, including:

  • Providing a home-like environment for adopters and animals to get to know one another
  • Companion animals get to practice socializing
  • Increased visitor traffic in Marion, leading to
  • Increased visibility to adoptable animals at the Sanctuary
  • Providing lodging for volunteers after a fulfilling day’s work (or in case of bad weather)

In all, the completion of the Marion Cottages will likely increase adoption rates, and each adoption brings us one step closer to a world where the life of every companion animal matters. Every.Single.One.

How? If you are interested and available to help on any or all build-days, please reply to this posting or contact Michelle Diederich at mdiederich@heanokill.org.
