SMA, MRC

Pancreatic cancer is the world's toughest cancer. With a 5-year survival rate of just 9%, pancreatic cancer is currently the 3rd leading cause of cancer death in the United States, but is quickly poised to become the second. The Atlanta Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our November Awareness Campaign Committee.

November is pancreatic cancer awareness month and we need help to turn Atlanta - and all of Georgia - purple! As a member of this committee you will help plan and execute awareness campaigns in our community by working with local businesses, schools, faith groups, civic organizations, and more! The sky is the limit as we Wage Hope and Demand Better to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer patients and work to improve outcomes for patients.

Training and resources will be provided to be a successful member of this committee. Most work can be done remotely, but we ask for members to be timely in their communication and response times. You can learn more about the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and our programs at www.pancan.org.

Mission Statement

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is a nationwide network of people dedicated to working together to advance research, support patients and create hope for those affected by pancreatic cancer.

Description

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is the only national organization creating hope in a comprehensive way through research, patient support, community outreach and advocacy for a cure. The organization raises money for direct private funding of research--and advocates for more aggressive federal research funding of medical breakthroughs in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer.

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network fills the void of information and options by giving patients and caregivers reliable, personalized information they need to make informed decisions. We create a sense of hope and community so no one has to face pancreatic cancer alone. The organization helps support individuals and communities all across the country work together to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for pancreatic cancer.
