FIGMENT NYC is a free participatory arts event that celebrates creativity by challenging artists and participants to find new ways to create, share, and dream. FIGMENT is uninterrupted by commercial sponsorship, transactions, or advertising. Neither our artists nor our planners and staff are paid: everything that you see at FIGMENT is born from a simple desire to share imagination with each other and the public.
That's where you come in! Now in its 13th year, FIGMENT is moving to a new home at Lighthouse Park on Roosevelt Island on Saturday June 1st and Sunday June 2nd, and we're looking for volunteers to assist with greeting FIGMENT participants, stage management, supporting artists and curators, taking photos and videos for FIGMENT social media, answering questions at HQ, logistics, and more, with additional opportunities to help with artist installations on build day Friday May 31st and breakdown Monday June 3rd.
Volunteer shifts are 2-3 hours in length, and all volunteers will be able to interact with the art! You will also receive a FIGMENT t-shirt. Volunteers should be comfortable standing and working outside as the majority of shifts are outdoors.
FIGMENT can provide letters for students who need proof of volunteer hours.
