1 consistent volunteer needed weekly on Fridays to deliver food to 2-3 elementary schools in the Denver Public Schools. Volunteer will need to be able to lift 25-30 pound boxes, and need a personal vehicle that can carry large amounts of food (preferably a pickup truck, SUV or minivan). Or, if volunteer has experience driving a box truck, they can use our box truck to make the deliveries. Time of day can be any time between 9am and 2pm. Volunteer will drive to Food Bank of the Rockies off 45th and Havana, then deliver the food to 2-3 elementary schools (current committed schools are Eagleton Elementary off 8th and Hooker, and Munroe Elementary off Virginia and Knox). This opportunity starts with 6 weeks in the summer, then continues weekly once the school year starts again in August (school breaks are the exception). Total time commitment would be 2-3 hours each week. Planned absences can be accepted with enough advance notice.
