Share your skills, passion, and experiences to serve the community in a meaningful way. We customize your volunteer experience based on your interest, prefer location and availability. We partner with hundreds of organizations strategically matching each volunteer with the opportunity of heir dreams. Looking for volunteers in the following areas of priority:
- Companions - to help isolated homebound elders, people with disabilities, veterans, and caregivers at their homes or by calling clients by phone (Telephone Reassurance, or at organizations like the James A. Haley Hospital and MacDonald Training Center.
- Health Buddies/Companions - assist clients with improving chronic disease self- management skills, companionship services and coordinating health care services and community referrals.
- Peer-Led/ Nutrition and Wellness - to facilitate discussions on life transitions or nutrition and low impact classes at different locations (Senior Centers, Libraries and Independent Living Apartments). Training will be provided.
- Mentors/Tutors - to help struggling children improve academic and social skills at Elementary Schools and After School Programs.
- Food Delivery and Food Distribution - serve at Senior Centers, Trinity Cafe, Metropolitan Ministries, Meals & Wheels, Emergency Care Help, United Food Bank, Feeding Tampa Bay.
- Other Non-Profits- assist by helping with events, recreational activities, advisory council, administrative, fundraising, advisors, advocates, etc. (Tampa YMCA's, Independent Living Apartments, Zoo Tampa, Adult Day Care Centers).

Description
Programs Offered Through Seniors in Service:
Foster Grandparent Program (FGP)
- The Foster Grandparent Program recruits senior volunteers (55+) to go into schools and after-school programs to mentor at-risk and special needs children and provide them with one-on-one, individualized attention
Senior Companion Program (SCP)
- The Senior Companion Program recruits senior volunteers (55+) to go into the homes of homebound, elderly clients and provide them with companionship and assistance.
Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)
- The RSVP Program recruits senior volunteers(55+) to participate more fully in the life of the community through volunteer service. The program matches the considerable wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience of this vital and rapidly growing age group with the addressing of critical needs and unresolved issues in our community.
Operation Veteran Connect
- Provides companionship to veterans, enabling them to live independently. Supports the VA in supporting providing Whole Health support to veterans.
