Aquarium maintenance divers will assist with the maintenance of our largest exhibits via various diving modes.

Basic requirements include:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Rescue diver certification or above
  • Current CPR with AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certifications
  • Current DAN insurance
  • Ability to pass a swim test
  • Ability to pass a dive skills evaluation
  • Pass a dive physical
  • Yearly time commitment

If interested, the first step is attending one of our twice annual recruitment events*. There, you will be provided more details on the requirements and expectations, meet some of the current staff and volunteers, and take a tour of the dive-related exhibit areas. These events take place each January and July.

*The next event will be July 9, 2019. Please note, recruitment event attendance is not a guarantee for admittance into the Aquarium’s Volunteer Diver Program. More detailed information will be sent regarding recruitment event location once volunteer has applied.
