Aquarium maintenance divers will assist with the maintenance of our largest exhibits via various diving modes.
Basic requirements include:
- 18 years of age or older
- Rescue diver certification or above
- Current CPR with AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certifications
- Current DAN insurance
- Ability to pass a swim test
- Ability to pass a dive skills evaluation
- Pass a dive physical
- Yearly time commitment
If interested, the first step is attending one of our twice annual recruitment events*. There, you will be provided more details on the requirements and expectations, meet some of the current staff and volunteers, and take a tour of the dive-related exhibit areas. These events take place each January and July.
*The next event will be July 9, 2019. Please note, recruitment event attendance is not a guarantee for admittance into the Aquarium’s Volunteer Diver Program. More detailed information will be sent regarding recruitment event location once volunteer has applied.
