Hope Connections for Cancer Support is a 501(c)-3 nonprofit with a mission to provide support to those affected with cancer through programs of emotional support, education, wellness, and hope. We are a small organization consisting of eight staff members as well as licensed clinical staff and mind/body instructors. Learn more at www.HopeConnectionsforCancer.org
We are currently seeking a Marketing and Events Intern for the summer and/or fall. The ideal applicant will be enthusiastic and committed to Hope Connection for Cancer’s mission, an independent worker, and proactive thinker. The marketing intern will devote 15-20 hours per week helping engage Hope Connections with the community through marketing, events planning, and assisting with various fundraising events. The intern will report to the President & CEO, and work closely with the Office Manager & Program Director.
You will:
- Create new content for the Hope Connections website and social media pages
- Assist in creating visuals (i.e. signage, circulars, flyers, mock-ups)
- Assist with marketing and planning fundraising events including:
- Drive Out Cancer (September 2019)
- Candy Cane City 5k (November 2019)
- Celebration of Hope Gala (March 2020)
- 3rd Party Events (ongoing)
Our ideal candidate is:
- Committed, energetic, organized, flexible and creative
- A good communicator, and has great writing and speaking skills
- Able to work with a team, or independently
- A self-starter willing to learn new things and takes direction well
- Able to multitask and has a very good attention to detail
- Experience with various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
- Familiar with office work and computer applications (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook- Illustrator and Photoshop helpful, but not necessary)
- Experience with content creation, even if not professionally
