Scope of Work

  • Reviews and approves communications plan prepared by staff and helps to develop procedures for implementation
  • Engages the Board in communications-related discussion and makes communications policy recommendations
  • Submits annual objectives to the Board as part of the planning and budgeting process
  • Works with staff to design communication reports and ensure reports are accurate and timely
  • Connects staff with reporters, graphic designers, and other communication professionals or assists with doing this through the committee
  • Gathers intelligence and makes recommendations on best practices in communication, through social media, website and print channels
  • Assists Board members and staff in public and private speaking opportunities
  • Assists in events designed to raise awareness of WFRI and the progressive issues we address
  • Identifies and assists in recruiting speakers for events and workshops
  • Creates and manages WFRI Blog postings

The Women’s Fund of Rhode Island offers workshops in salary negotiation skills, creating equitable workplaces, advocacy 101 and other topics which help to address the societal inequities that occur in women’s everyday lives.
