This is an opportunity for an interdisciplinary team to integrate several systems and online tools.
Hardware:
1. Arduino Smart Plant Care Kit
2. Arduino Automatic Smart Plant Watering Kit 2.0
3. Arduino Uno Rev 3
4. Wifi Modules / UART Wifi
5. Grove Shields (for use with sensors)
6. Raspberry Pi (Python) can be swapped out if Wifi modules are correctly coded
Software:
Arduino IDE (C++)
IBW Watson Studio (Python for Data Science)
Applications (tools):
IBM Node Red
Xcode
Android Studio
Flutter or another cross-platform tool can be used to publish for web, iOS and Android
USDA datasets.
The goal is to create a predictive mobile solution for farmers to make decisions about irrigated water use.
