Help girls discover the joys of Girl Scouting at our community day camp! At camp, girls explore Girl Scouting through arts and crafts, songs, games, STEM activities, Girl Scout traditions and so much more! Volunteer alongside fellow women during this one week day camp. Camp Aventura is a community based day camp designed for girls in grades K-6 who are not currently enrolled in Girl Scouts. Local girls are registered to attend, and we need help with additional adult supervision. It's a valuable time for them to build skills and connect outside of school. Girls can choose to join a local troop after attending camp.

Mission Statement

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. We seek to accomplish this by providing girls opportunities to develop their potential and have fun with their peers in a supportive, all-girl setting.

Description

Founded in 1912, Girl Scouts of the USA is the preeminent organization for girls with a current membership of 3.6 million girls and adults. Volunteers use their expertise, skills, interests, and life experience to shape fun and enriching leadership experiences for girls, and inspire them to reach their personal best. Volunteers help council staff facilitate the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls through exciting program opportunities: leadership/self-esteem, financial literacy, travel, health/wellness, science, technology, engineering, and math. Volunteers choose from several flexible Pathways (the ways that girls and adults join Girl Scouting) that fit their lifestyles, including short-term or long-term service working either directly or indirectly with girls, and they can participate regionally, nationally, and internationally.
