Penn Athletic Field Park is looking for volunteers to help with the Annual Summer Fun Café Kickoff BBQ on Thursday, June 20th, 2019. This is a truly rewarding opportunity for San Diego's youth! This event helps raise the importance of community resources, family engagement, and proper nutrition.
Signup for this event to make a difference for children across the City. Duties for the Summer Kickoff Luncheon will include set up/break down, activities, crafts, litter abatement, and other tasks as needed.
Available Shifts:
- 9:00am - 12:30pm
- 12:00pm - 3:00pm
* Flexible shifts, willing to work with your schedule!
Please be prepared to volunteer outdoors. Bring proper sun protection measures and wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing that is easy to move around in.

San Diego's Park and Recreation Department is responsible for overseeing nearly 40,000 acres of developed and undeveloped open space, more than 340 parks including Balboa Park, Mission Trails Regional Park, and Mission Bay Park; 25 miles of shoreline from Sunset Cliffs to La Jolla; 13 pools; 3 public golf complexes; 56 recreation centers and more. Park and recreation professionals and volunteers host hundreds of community events each year and provide safe places for thousands of children to go after school. City employees and volunteers take great pride to enrich the lives of others through quality parks and programs, designed and developed so that people of all ages, abilities and income levels have the chance to participate in excellent recreational opportunities.
