Last year, MAC gave away more than 5,000 bags of groceries to households in Downtown and Midtown Atlanta. We are looking for a volunteer who can fill client food orders on Monday mornings. Clients have been pre-screened for assistance. When they come in, they will fill out a shopping list. Our food pantry volunteers fill the order and bring the packed bags out to the client. This is a great way to work directly with those in need and feed those who are hungry!

We currently need volunteers Thursday and Friday Mornings from 9:30-12:30 a.m.

Description

Since 1986, MAC has helped in over 139,000 emergency situations and provided over $8,000,000 of assistance to low-income households. MAC’s Homeless Prevention Program is successful in helping to achieve family stability, as our monthly landlord follow-up shows that 90% of the households MAC assists with rent are still housed and 84% of households have electricity. MAC operates with a staff of six employees, making volunteers a vital part of MAC. Last year, 250 volunteers contributed over 7,000 hours and were the largest individual donors.
