International Friends Program, MSU

  • 4 people are interested

International Friends Program matches you/your family with international student for 3-4 mos/1 semester similar to HS exchange, but students remain living on campus and hosts are not responsible financially.

International students have left friends/family/support system to come to study (in a second language). They enjoy building a friendship with someone from the US to visit with once or every other week, or once a month to share dinner, and simply to enjoy time together. Visits might be sharing lunch, letting them cook their food for w/you, going to local festival, enjoying a shared hobby, or celebrating holiday/birthday. These students are eager to get to know you and share cultures. Consider if you had a son/daughter, niece/nephew, or anyone in your family/life that were to travel to a new country, wouldn't it be nice to know that someone was there for there to help them adjust and learn about that new culture?
