  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 6 people are interested

NEW START Adult Learning Program is looking for enthusiastic, motivated and organized individuals to engage small groups of English as a Second Language (ESL) students in conversation who are at or above a High Intermediate speaking level. Program books and materials will be provided. Some teaching or tutoring experience is preferred, but not necessary

Time Commitment:
Classes meet every Wednesday from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. The classes will start February 5, 2020 and will end May 20, 2020 with various days off in between.

*** The classes started on September 4, 2019 and will stop on December 18, 2019 for a long Winter Break. The current teacher will be unable to continue after the break. You are welcome to sit in on the class beforehand to see how things go.

Job Duties:

  • Get small groups of students started in conversation either with yourself or with other students.
  • Make corrections to speech only as necessary.
  • Keep track of student attendance hours through Google Sheets or an alternate form and make sure they are submitted to the NEW START Main Office at least weekly. Although these students are not required to register and may come to any class, the library still requires us to keep track of attendance.
