Scouting Program Leaders Needed

We are in need of adult leaders to serve a variety of Scouting programs:
- Sea Scouts- Young men and women age 14-20 interested in maritime heritage, sailing, kayaking, camping
- Scout BSA- Carteret County's first all girl Scout Troop, age 11-18 camping, service, adventure
- Explorers- Science Career Explorer program for youth age 11-18. This group meets at CMAST at 4:00pm on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 4:00pm
Leaders needed:
Direct Youth Serving Leaders- MATES, Assist Scoutmaster, Assistant Explorer Advisor- These are registered Scouters who work directly with the youth and serve as program assistants.
Unit Committee Members- These are registered Scouters who may not work directly with the youth but help serve the unit through administrative, program, activities, financial and logistical support. The committee usually meets once a month to discuss needs and progress.
Program advisors and consultants- These individuals may not be registered Scouters, but have expertise or skills that they are willing to share at Scout programs- Merit Badge Counselors, Sailing/SCUBA instructors, Scientists and Researchers.
All leaders will be required to undergo a criminal background check and complete an online Youth Protection Training program.
Parents of children age 11-18, are encouraged to bring their child as a participants.

Mission Statement
The Science House at CMAST is the K-12 Educational Outreach Office that serves the teachers and students of coastal North Carolina. Our mission is to provide innovative STEM instruction and programs to K-12 teachers and students.
Description
We are a small office located within the NCSU Center for Marine Sciences and Technology. We offer teacher professional development and student programs.
