We are seeking committed individuals who are required to fulfill their community service requirements and receive college credits and wish to learn more about nonprofit structure, operations and management in a fun environment.
Ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in social work, non-profit management, and education; or theatre, visual, dance and music arts.
Volunteers will work with low income youth (ages 6-12) for a 6 week summer enrichment program. We have opportunities at 2 locations. North Philadelphia and South Philadelphia
Activity areas include: Creative Arts, Arts & Crafts, STEM, Cooking, Drama, Music and Dance
Job duties include:
- Promote and actively participate in all program activities
- Work effectively with summer program staff and collaborate on daily responsibilities
- Chaperone walking trips
- The ability to work effectively with others in a professional manner
- Positive attitude
- Patient, caring and creative
- Flexible, adaptive and a team player
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Previous experience working with children. Examples include but are not limited to; babysitting, academic/athletic tutoring, camp counselor, youth volunteer, classroom assistant, teacher, etc.
This summer program is 6 weeks that will run from July 6th through August 13th.
Training will be provided one week prior the start of the program on June 28th
Anyone interested must be available for all 6 weeks and 1 week training.
A stipend will be paid upon completion of the program.
