Health Promotion and Special Smiles Screenings - STARability - Naples, FL
Seeking physicians, nurses, PAs, NPs, MAs, LPNs, & related health students, dental hygienists, dentists, dental assistants, & students
Volunteers will assist in check-in/checkout, screening height, weight, body mass index, bone density, and blood pressure. Additionally, volunteers will educate participants about nutrition, exercise, sun safety, hand hygiene, hydration, and bone health. Volunteers will assist with dental screenings, which may include assisting with patient history, check in/out, oral health education stations, scribe for Dental Hygienist/Dentist, or other duties as designated.
- Please note you will receive training the day of the screening.
- Population served: Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
A t-shirt and lunch will be provided.
Please note that the volunteers will be required to stay the entire time. Please make arrangements accordingly.

Description
The ultimate objective of Special Olympics Florida is to help people with intellectual disabilities participate as productive and respected members of society at large, by offering them a fair opportunity to develop and demonstrate their skills and talents through sports training and competition, and by increasing the public’s awareness of their capabilities and needs.
