earn valuable ecological skills as a Forest Steward!

The Gunpowder Valley Conservancy, a Baltimore County-based land trust and watershed restoration organization, is offering a Forest Steward workshop. The goal of this workshop is to offer a hands-on learning experience within Bee Tree Preserve on invasive plant identification, successful removal techniques, native plant identification and installation. This FREE event is made possible by a conservation grant from the MD Mountain Club Lester Miles Fund, and by a partnership with the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) and Gunpowder Falls State Park.

No experience is necessary! We are looking for middle, high, and college level students, community residents, Scouts, and outdoors people who care about our waterways and the Chesapeake Bay! Do you like being outside in nature and don’t mind working hard? Do you want to receive community service hours? Then join us and become a Forest Steward for the day. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old.

Registration deadline is Wednesday June 26th. Space limited to 30 volunteers.
