An Arabic-speaking patient in Ann Arbor needs visitors so she won't be lonely. Help this patient, her family and others by volunteering through ProMedica Hospice. No experience necessary. We will train you and walk every step of the volunteer journey with you.
Volunteers must be at least 18-years-old to visit patients. ProMedica requires all volunteers to get the annual flu shot and provides it for free. Every volunteer, while visiting patients, must wear the surgical mask ProMedica provides. Those who do not have the COVID vaccine must wear an N95 mask and face shield (provided by ProMedica for free) and get COVID tested twice weekly. Volunteers must complete two TB skin tests (available for free in the ProMedica Ann Arbor office), a drug screening and a fingerprint background check (all paid for by ProMedica). We provides extensive training to ensure volunteers are fully prepared for their work.

Location:

Mission Statement
Heartland Hospice provides quality care to patients with a limited life expectancy, as well as support to their families and caregivers. Formerly known as ProMedica Hospice, Heartland enhances the quality of life of those we serve through palliative and specialized supportive care designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the patients and caregivers. Hospice care is provided by using an interdisciplinary approach in delivering care to patients--either in their own homes or extended care facilities--while working cooperatively with other health care providers and other community resources. Heartland Hospice strives to provide care to all who are eligible and need hospice care irrespective of ability to pay. Heartland is part of Gentiva Health Services.
