Big River Journey is a riverboat field trip with 4th-6th grade students. Students rotate stations on one of the Padelford Riverboats as the boat journeys upstream before returning to Harriet Island in Saint Paul, MN. Volunteers are needed to help staff the stations: birding, geology, mussels, invertebrates and ecosystem. All training is provided prior to departing on the field trip. Volunteers are not expected to run the station. An addition, a few volunteers are needed to serve as roving monitors to help facilitate group movement from one station to the next.
