Summary of Job Description
The Shire Community Space Fund Development Committee Member is responsible for assisting with fundraising activities for the Shire Community Space, which is partially dependent on grants, donations, and sponsorships for its operations. It is 501c3 arts community space that has strong community support and has been in existence for almost three years.
Duties
Sits on the Fund Development Committee
Attends weekly Fund Development Committee meetings
Creates and maintain community connections and relationships
Attends relevant networking and community meetings
Networks with local businesses to identify new funding opportunities
Assists with donor appreciation and thank yous
Participates in grant-writing and research process
Required Experience
Interest in working in a nonprofit environment
Ability to function in fast-paced, startup nonprofit environment
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience
Experience fundraising for grassroots, arts, or nonprofit organizations
Grant-writing and grant-research experience
Donor database management and development experience
Additional Requirements
Has at least 5 hours to dedicate to the Shire weekly
Is available for at least one weekly meeting
Access to a phone and computer

Description
The Shire will be an all-ages community space located in downtown Modesto that is comprised of a live performance and workshop space, art gallery, and café. We will provide members of our community the opportunity to engage in a wide range of experiences including concerts, art exhibitions, film screenings, food and drink, classes, meet-up groups, and other community gatherings designed to encourage creative interaction.
