Mission Statement
Paddle4Good empowers, connects, and creates stronger communities through safe, inclusive, adventure activities like SUP (stand up paddling) for underserved populations such as those with physical or developmental needs, mentoring programs, life-saving education, & outreach.
Description
We’ve 2 main programs:
PaddleTogether - free, inclusive, events that connect community volunteers with children with special needs for a safe 1/2 day of paddling activities which include stand up paddling (SUP), kayaking, peddle boats, lawn games, & more. These events make a huge impact in the community for everyone. Volunteers discover compassion & a greater understanding of those with special needs. Those with special needs are empowered with self-confidence & self-esteem while making new friends. Parents discover their children may be capable of things they never thought possible while also being touched that others in their community care to connect & serve their children.
Help-a-Heart CPR - a free, 5-10 minute, hands-on experience that empowers people with the skills that they need to save someone who's experienced a heart attack using an AED & hands-only CPR. We bring this to community events & corporate health fairs. Our results have been remarkable - over 58% of participants have never had any CPR experience, yet over 90% feel comfortable finding an AED & doing CPR after learning from us. We look to expand to serve more schools & partner with other non-profit organizations serving children.
