SUMMER VOLUNTEER APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN! Apply by May 22nd at 10 pm
Are you looking for regular volunteer experience for you or your high school student? Look no further than the LASC's Summer Teaching Assistants! Volunteers are vital in our summer programming to ensure that an AWESOME environment for children, teens, families, and the community the Living Arts & Science Center serves. Volunteers must be 16 or older and must complete a background check (provided by the LASC) and must be able to commit to a full week of summer service. Volunteers will be doing the following:
- Assisting with classroom set-up and clean-up
- Supporting staff and instructors with overseeing the classroom space to provide a safe and fun environment
- Collecting classroom supplies for the classroom instructors and staff
- Providing lunch care along with faculty and instructors
This is a perfect opportunity to experience what it's like to be in a classroom for those interested in teaching or filling up your resume with some consistent service, which looks great for college and scholarship applications. Not to mention, this is a fun way for you to spend the summer!
If you are interested, please download, complete and submit the volunteer application from the LASCLEX.org website to the Community Engagement and Education Americorps VISTA member, JoAnna Scates via email at jscates@lasclex.org. Hard copies will also be excepted if you would like to print them and bring them to the Living Arts and Science Center.
