Our pilot Virtual Camp needs volunteers willing to work with students ranging in age from 7-12. Partnering with 4-H, kids will be engaging in hands on activities and science fun. Volunteers will work in small rooms in break out rooms on Zoom to assist children with projects. Background clearances are required for this position.

Description
Orion Communities provides support services to the most vulnerable women, men and children in our community. Initially for individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities, Orion’s focus expanded to serve those in poverty. Orion is known for assisting the ’poorest of the poor’ and people who fall through the cracks of the social service safety net. Orion focuses on the pressing and immediate needs of our clients and identifying systemic challenges and engaging community interest to address these macro issues.
PROGRAMS
BRIDGE CASE MANAGEMENT provides assistance in a period of transition, crisis or change.
COMMUNITY EMERGENCY FUND provides financial assistance for those in critical situations for life’s basic needs or to protect from from catastrophic losses.
TECHNOLOGY RESOURCE CENTER provides free access to and assistance with computers, phones, fax machine, and copier.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH assesses needs, develops strategies, and provides services that fill the gaps in at risk populations. Examples are Code Blue Shelter and Affordable Housing Task Force initiatives.
STARS* is a reading, digital literacy and computer/book giveaway program to improve academic performance plus improve communication with the children’s school and teachers.
GLAD is a 'trauma informed’ program for single mothers to expand their parenting skills, identify their passions and develop education plans to fulfill those passions.

- Camp will be Tues, Wed, and Thurs from 9:30-12:30 July 28 to August 20th. There may be a need the week prior for some training and the week after for evaluation.
- Must be flexible, enjoy children, prepared to shoot from the hip, go with the flow and be ready for fun!
