Guest Services volunteers greet people from near and far, answer questions about the Indigenous and Colonial communities who lived along these shores of change in the 1600s, assist with wayfinding, and help guests discover our shared histories. The schedule is flexible and includes weekend shifts.

Guest Services volunteers:

  • Greet guests as they arrive at the Orientation film and providing a short welcome
  • Make sure the theatres are clean and operable: lighting, climate control, etc.
  • Coordinate with the front end staff and volunteers on seating availability and timing of shows
  • Coordinate with Golf Cart volunteers on assisting guests with limited access
  • Instruct chaperones and group leaders on guidelines and expectations for visiting the Museum
  • Direct the flow of guests through the theatre lobby
  • Report and deliver lost and found items to Guest Services front desk.
  • Help guests with directions and inquiries to downtown Plymouth or beyond.

Guest Services volunteers are:

  • Self-motivated
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups
  • Foreign language skills are a plus!

Description

Plimoth Plantation's outdoor living exhibits include the 17th-Century English Village, Wampanoag Homesite, and the Plimoth Grist Mill located 3.5 miles north of the Museum in downtown Plymouth. At the Craft Center, guests learn more about how skilled artisans recreate the colonial and Indigenous worlds of the 17th century. Plimoth Plantation's full-scale reproduction of Mayflower, the tall ship that brought the Pilgrims to Plymouth in 1620,is currently receiving a full restoration ahead of Plymouth's 400th commemoration of the Pilgrims' arrival on New England's shores!

Plimoth Plantation is open from the second Saturday in March through the end of November.

Plimoth Cinema is open year-round and shows new, independent films twice each day.
