Chicago Urban Art Retreat Center will be hosting an Art Show called- About Animals in the months of June and July in 2019. The opening reception for this show is Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Admission is free. Artists interested in being a part of this show can reply to this post. They can also visit our website for general guidelines on how to submit their work at www.urbanartretreat.com

During this show there will be a number of activities planned to raise awareness of the issues involving animals and what people can do to help them. The opening reception will be followed by an Update on Issues such as Desmond's Law on June 22 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm; How to Talk with Family about Animal Rights and Being Vegan on July 6 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm; Supporting Animal Rights Activists on July 20 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm; and a FREE Workshop to Make Art About Animals from 2-4p.m. on July 27.

CUARC Animal Welfare program wants to bring awareness about Desmond's Law being passed in Illinois and nationally. We are working with a group of animal lovers that would like for House Bill 1631/Desmond's Law to pass in the Illinois Congress. This law would allow dogs and cats to have legal representation in courts in cases of animal cruelty involving these animals.

We are also recruiting volunteers for our Animals Art Show activities
