Are you are a student, retiree just looking for a way to give back to the community in a unique and fulfilling way?
We are seeking compassionate, caring and creative individuals to spend meaningful time with our terminally-ill patients and their loved ones throughout San Diego County.
Hospice Volunteers are an integral part of our interdisciplinary team at Advantage Health Systems, working together with staff to meet the needs of our patients and families.
Volunteers provide support in many ways: to help enhance the patient's quality of life, reduce the family's caregiving burden, listen and just be a friend! Every hospice volunteer has something special and significant to contribute, and we welcome and encourage new ideas.

Description
The focus of Hospice relies on the belief that each of us has the right to die pain-free and with dignity, and that our loved ones will receive the necessary support to allow us to do so.
Hospice focuses on caring, not curing and in most cases care is provided in the person’s home.
Hospice care also is provided in freestanding hospice centers, hospitals, nursing homes and other long-term care facilities.
Hospice services are available to patients of any age, religion, race, or illness.
Hospice care is covered under Medicare, Medi-Cal, most private insurance plans, HMOs, and other managed care organizations.
