Endless Journey could use 2-3 volunteers who really love all sorts of animals to assist in getting our hospice patients to animal-assisted therapy activities when they occur in various Omaha area nursing homes. Sometimes our patients are not the kind to respond to a calendar invitation and we just want to make sure they receive the opportunity to enjoy the animals with the other residents. The volunteer's role would be to arrive a little ahead of the visit, invite the client(s) to attend, and help with the visit, assuring that if the resident was unable to go to the activity, the animal makes a personal visit to them if only for a few minutes. These visits occur at 10:30 or 1:30 during the weekdays.

Mission Statement
The Endless Journey hospice experience will encompass the holistic philosophy in that the client and their family will be nourished physically, emotionally and spiritually as they prepare for the end of life and beyond.
Description
Endless Journey Hospice LLC is an independent, locally owned and operated hospice established in Omaha to serve Northeast Nebraska with an alternative for end of life care unlike those currently offered by the medical field. The primary objective is to empower clients and the community through education and to offer holistic interventions to provide comfort and dignity throughout the dying process. Endless Journey embraces the client and their loved ones as they approach the exhaustion of effective aggressive treatment by offering emotional support and education related to disease process and treatment options to improve quality of life. Like all hospices, we provide services to clients wherever they live. This is provided through the traditional hospice team of nurses, health aids, chaplains, social workers, and volunteers in addition to a broad array of holistic providers and a full-time nutritionist.
