During these uncertain times, how can we help?

Serenity House in Mooresville is a free end-of-life comfort care home, and serves to provide a home-like setting for terminally ill patients with fragile support systems, and it is completely funded and operated by its community and neighbors.
Our volunteers and nurses provide round the clock loving care as well as emotional, spiritual and comfort needs for our residents and their families. Our volunteers are trained and paired-up in 4 hour shifts to provide one-on-one comfort care for our residents.

The mission of the Carolina Comfort Coalition is to establish, with community support, two-bed comfort care residences where a terminally ill person, who may be unable to obtain care due to physical, financial or emotional reasons at home, will be provided a home-like atmosphere to die in peace and dignity surrounded by loved ones and friends.
More and more people are finding that receiving hospice care in their homes is not possible because they lack either a family or friend support network or because their home is not safe for the dying experience. These situations are increasing as older parents find their children moving away for educational or economic opportunities and as more and more people live in assisted living or senior housing.
For many hospice families, keeping their loved ones out of the hospital can be very expensive. Around the clock care is costly and intrusive. Needless to say, most families cannot afford that type of care. Before the Serenity House comfort care home, families in Lake Norman and surrounding areas had few choices when their loved one needed more care than traditional hospice services could provide. Many families become overwhelmed with the physical, emotional, and spiritual issues as they face the finish line of life. Serenity House is a sanctuary of peace and love; a haven for those seeking a dignified death in a non-clinical atmosphere.
We are very excited to be able to expand our services within the Lake Norman and North Mecklenburg areas with our new comfort care home - Serenity House of Huntersville. This critical growth allows us to serve the most vulnerable of our communities by offering the much needed alternative to institutional care in the final days, weeks, or months of life.
We'll work with your schedule.
