Following the powerful and damaging impacts of Hurricane Irma in 2017, community leaders recognized a need for a group that could be a resource for assisting disadvantaged Polk county residents with on-going disaster recovery and thus, Polk Recovery After Disaster or Polk RAD was formed.
Polk RAD is looking for someone with administrative skills and an interest in disaster recovery to volunteer part-time to assist with meeting minutes, scheduling and other light office duties.
Volunteers 55+ years of age are eligible to enroll in RSVP Polk.

Description
Leading Through Experience! You've gained a lifetime of experience. Now is the time to put your skills and talents to good use by volunteering through RSVP. RSVP provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through non-profit, faith-based, and governmental agencies to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of volunteers with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental accident insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
