ORGANIZATION: A Step Ahead Chattanooga

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 16 people are interested

A Step Ahead Chattanooga provides long-term, reversible birth control (IUDs and implants) to any woman living in Southeast Tennessee who wants it. For free. These low-maintenance methods provide protection and are fully reversible when she’s ready.

Access to birth control gives a woman the opportunity to complete an education, earn more money, have healthier babies, take care of her children, and live life on her terms.

Community Ambassadors are often the first impression a person has of A Step Ahead Chattanooga. Community Ambassadors attend a short training session so they can talk confidently in person or online about long term, reversible birth control and A Step Ahead’s mission and services. There is no time commitment other than the initial training session. To sign up or learn more email volunteer@astepaheadchattanooga.org.

We are currently only looking for volunteers in our service area of the following eleven southeast Tennesse counties: Bledsoe, Bradley, Franklin, Grundy, Hamilton, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Polk, Rhea, and Sequatchie.

Mission Statement

A Step Ahead Chattanooga envisions a world where women become pregnant on their terms, enabling them, their families, and communities to thrive. Our mission is to remove barriers to contraception through education, outreach, and access to free birth control.

Description

A Step Ahead Chattanooga empowers a woman to take control of her future. We make sure she can get the most effective methods of birth control when she is ready.

We provide preventive birth control to any woman living in Southeast Tennessee, North Georgia, or North Alabama who wants it. For free.

With donations from individuals, companies, and foundations, we make sure that clinical services cost women nothing out-of-pocket. If needed, transportation is covered too. We also provide outreach and education. We believe that all women - not only women of means-should have every chance to reach their education, career, and relationship goals.
