Make a difference - become a volunteer teacher at The Community Center in Waukegan!
The Community Center is a place where families connect with others in their community for information, activities, and support. Through an array of family activities, classes and programs, The Community Center works to reduce isolation, support families, and build community.
We are seeking volunteer teachers to help adults who want to become US citizens. The program primarily serves Spanish-speaking adults and involves a commitment of less than 2 hours per week. Teachers work with a group of 5 to 15 students.
Classes are held at The Community Center located at 914 8th Street, Waukegan, IL 60085. Classes are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 - 7:30 pm. Previous teaching experience and/or bilingual a plus.
