Downtown Streets Team is hosting a picnic to celebrate our Team Members, Hayward residents experiencing homelessness who volunteer on projects to beautify the community. From collecting over 290,000 gallons of debris to removing 91 needles from the streets, our Team Membershave a lot to celebrate! Come say thanks by helping us set up, serve food or lead activities. This is a great chance to connect with people working to improve the community.
Volunteer Roles:
- Setup
- Grill master
- Server
- Activity Lead
- Teardown

- Volunteer Shift 1 10am - 1:00pm
- Volunteer Shift 1:00pm -4:00pm

Downtown Streets Team is fighting homelessness through the dignity of work.
Description
Downtown Streets Team is a work-experience Team where adults experiencing homelessness can volunteer on beautification projects removing blight throughout our community. For their time spent volunteering, they receive case management, employment support and other services in order to help them achieve their goals. Each person has experienced a unique path into homelessness and the answer to effective recovery is varied and innovative. We believe in change, hope, community, and fighting homelessness through the dignity of work
