ORGANIZATION: Elmira's Wildlife Sanctuary

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Do you have a green thumb? Do you love designing gardens and landscaping? Then come help a sanctuary out!

Elmira's Wildlife Sanctuary needs help getting our landscaping under control. We need people to focus solely on the greenery. Being in a tropical location requires constant maintenance.

The position involves basic lawn/landscaping like mowing, pulling weeds, using a string trimmer. But we need people who know what needs to be done, who can advise us on the best way to clear and landscape the property to be used for new enclosures. Who can work alone but also help oversee work groups that come out on the weekends.

These people need to come on a weekly or biweekly basis to help keep the growth under control. If you like being outside, hanging out with animals, getting your hands dirty and playing with plants, let us know!

Volunteer orientations are usually the 3rd Saturday of the month. Come plant trees for bears and water features for tigers!
