Did you know that there are volunteer opportunities with the Animal Care team at the National Zoo? We are currently recruiting Zoo help volunteers in several areas, including at the Reptile Discovery Center, the Elephant Community Center, the Bird House, and the Great Apes building.

All of these programs require a minimum of a year-long commitment, a Smithsonian background check, and volunteers generally work one full day each week. See the specific programs for all the requirements.
