We’ve launched a very exciting project and we could use your help! In partnership between Best Friends Animal Society and Riverside County Dept of Animal Services, we’d like to introduce The Riverside Community Cat Program, where we will spay and neuter 7000 cats EVERY YEAR. The project will effectively reduce the number of cats killed in shelters through a proven successful shelter-neuter-return and trap-neuter-return program.

This lifesaving endeavor will involve neutering, vaccinating and returning community cats to their original outdoor locations. Not only is this the most humane method of preventing cats from entering the shelter system, but it’s also the most effective.

We need your help to make this program a success! Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Community Cat Transporter (**especially needed! Just an hour or two a week would be a huge help!)
  • Community Cat General Assistant
  • Community Cat Ambassador
