Are you a high school student who enjoys mentoring young children and leading them in learning activities outdoors? We encourage you to apply to volunteer with our 2022 Summer Camp.

(You must be must be 16 years or older by June 2022 to apply! )

Summer camp volunteer duties: camp volunteers will assist the camp staff with a variety of tasks, including setting up and cleaning up activity supplies, leading small group activities, leading games, serving snack, organizing supplies, and acting as role models for the elementary school age camp participants. Must be able to communicate with Gardens' staff, fellow volunteers, and campers with a friendly, positive attitude to ensure quality experience. Student volunteers must be punctual, able to stand, bend and kneel to perform duties in a various weather conditions, indoors and outdoors.

Times/days needed:
Volunteers may sign up to assist with any or all days listed below. Training is required and will be offered on Sat. June 11, 9am-1pm at Duke Gardens.

  • June 20-24 from 1-4pm
  • June 27-July 1 from 8:30am-4pm
  • July 11-15 from 8:30am-4pm
  • July 18-22 from 1-4pm
  • July 25-29 from 8:30am-4pm
  • Aug 8-12 from 1-4pm
