We are an independent, non-profit, non-partisan, organisation. We champion democratic participation and transparency in the governance of genetic technologies.
We are building a team of volunteers to help lay the foundations for an ambitious project. This project aims to raise awareness internationally about the significance of developments in life sciences such as gene editing, and the crucial part we believe the public should play in deciding if, and how, these new technologies should be used.
We have just launched our UK campaign, called a New Social Contract for Genetic Technologies. This will make it a requirement for governments to commit 1% of their expenditure for genetic technologies on consulting, engaging and educating the public so it's voice always heard.

We are an independent, non-profit civil society organisation, campaigning for public awareness and participation in biosciences policy.
We are building a team of volunteers to help lay the foundations for an ambitious project to raise awareness internationally about the significance of gene editing and other developments in the life sciences - and the crucial part the public should play in deciding how we use these new technologies.
Our work focuses on keeping the public abreast of policy, giving the public the full picture, and fostering discussion about the broader of implications in the life sciences. We lobby government at the highest level: our written contribution to the House of Commons Select Committee on Gene Editing and Genomics can be found here, and our founder-director, Dr Edward Hockings, can be seen speaking in Parliament in the UK here. Our work has featured on many occasions in the Guardian and elsewhere in the national press, as well as Newsweek and the New Scientist.
