Awards Ceremony Scholars

East Bay College Fund supports resilient Oakland public school students who are underrepresented in higher education with access to and guidance through college.

This year, our organization will be awarding college scholarships to 400 recent graduates. We will be hosting a beautiful ceremony to recognize the accomplishments of our students and their families -- and we can't do it without your help!

We primarily need support with ushering. In this role, you will assist guests with navigating the space and locating their seats. No experience necessary - training will be provided.

  • Tue Jun 04, 2019 - evening / 07:15 PM to 09:00 PM
    Check-in late East Bay College Fund scholars and mentors. Hand-out program agenda. Guide late scholars and mentors to an Usher
  • Tue Jun 04, 2019 - evening / 05:30 PM to 07:30 PM
    Operate venue elevators ensuring that elevators rest at lobby (1st) floor at all times.
  • Tue Jun 04, 2019 - evening / 05:30 PM to 07:30 PM
    Welcomes guests to seating, encourages guests to fill middle rows and fill empty seats, and other duties as assigned.
  • Tue Jun 04, 2019 - 05:00 PM to 06:45 PM
    We will need a photographer with a light kit to take photos during the event.
  • Tue Jun 04, 2019 - 04:30 PM to 09:00 PM
    Monitor room that holds students personal belongings to make sure nothing is disturbed, and other duties as assigned.
  • Tue Jun 04, 2019 - 04:15 PM to 07:30 PM
    Direct event guests to 5th floor guest seating. Must be able to climb several flights of stairs. Wear comfortable shoes.
  • Tue Jun 04, 2019 - 04:00 PM to 09:30 PM
    Monitor parking in small parking lot. Hold reserved parking spaces for assigned VIPs. Direct all other guests to nearby parking garages.
  • Tue Jun 04, 2019 - 04:00 PM to 07:15 PM
    Check-in East Bay College Fund scholars and mentors. Help create name tags for each guest. Hand-out program packets to registered guests.
  • Tue Jun 04, 2019 - evening / 04:00 PM to 06:00 PM
    Ushering, etc.Help Food Service Lead prepare food, drinks and eating supplies for East Bay College Fund scholars. Other duties as assigned.
  • Tue Jun 04, 2019 - 03:30 PM to 06:30 PM
    Get volunteers checked in for the event. Assist with preparing name tags and signage. Direct volunteers to their placement and answer any questions.
