Handyman Volunteer Needed

We are looking for a volunteer to help with handyman/general maintenance type tasks one or two mornings a week for 3-4 hours or 1 day a week for 6-7 hours, Monday-Thursday. Our goal is to maintain a clean, safe and supportive learning environment for those with low vision and blindness. Our office maintains a close-knit atmosphere and some volunteers have been with us for 20+ years.
The following help is needed:
- Check property for debris and tree limbs - Basic repairs to office furniture and interior/exterior building - Assist with special projects as necessary - Sweep webs and nests from building - Wash fleet vehicles and bring in for maintenance - Check bulbs for replacement - Lubricate door hinges - Check all AC filters and provide preventative maintenance - Sam's Club supply pick up - Minor trimming to small trees and bushes - Clean front doors - Light sweep, mop and organization

Description
Lighthouse Vision Loss Education Center is the only nonprofit agency providing no-cost rehabilitation training to blind and visually impaired individuals of all ages in five counties. The counties we service include: Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, DeSoto and Highlands. The Lighthouse provides training in skills that promote self-sufficiency and independence in the lives of individuals who have vision loss. Training varies from in-home instruction to facility-based classroom sessions in white cane, assistive technology, vocational rehabilitation and independent living skills.
