One our our trained interns caring for a baby raccoon.

ASSISTANTS: Working closely with the animals without actually handling them. Other duties include, but are not limited to, cleaning, preparing food, dishes, laundry and other regular shift chores. This position helps a shift run smoothly
and allows the handlers to concentrate on feeding and direct care.
Primary Assistant: Time requirement* - 4 hour shift once a week.
Secondary Assistant: Time requirement* - 2 hour shift. This opportunity is limited to washing dishes, doing
laundry and cleaning empty cages.

Please let us know if you would prefer receiving a hard copy of our volunteer opportunities via mail instead, and the application may be mailed or faxed back. Once we have received your application, we will review it and notify you of the next upcoming Volunteer Orientation. The Volunteer Orientation serves as a general introduction to Woodlands Wildlife Refuge and an information session regarding your duties as a volunteer. Attending 1 orientation is required. Application and $5 donation must be sent to reserve your spot prior to orientation. The $5 donation is required with your application to reserve your spot and offset costs.

Since 1986 Woodlands has been dedicated to the care and release of orphaned and injured wild animals. Our goal is the release of these animals back to their natural habitats as well functioning wildlife. Woodlands is also dedicated to providing education to the general public regarding our wild neighbor's habits and habitats. As a 501c3 charitable organization, Woodlands depends on the generosity of others.
