Mentors needed to work with adolescents in recovery

Family Services' The Landing program provides a comprehensive array of recovery and support services to Montgomery County youth through programs designed to support youth through their recovery process, and engage them in their own recovery.

The Landing staff is currently looking for adult volunteers to help as mentors to students in their Recovery and Academic Program (RAP). Details about mentoring needs are below:

  • Mentoring sessions last for 30 minutes
  • Mentors are welcome to stay longer and offer support during group sessions as well
  • Mentoring sessions can take place once a week or more
  • Mondays-Fridays
  • Anytime between 10:30am-3:30pm
  • 640 East Diamond Avenue, Suite B in Gaithersburg

Volunteer qualifications include:

  • Age 25 and older
  • Previous experience working with adolescents as mentors and/or tutors
  • Knowledge of addiction/alcohol recovery process is helpful
  • Training will be provided

All interested volunteers need to submit a completed application and attend a new volunteer orientation session to learn more about Family Services and our volunteer policies.
