Every first Saturday of the month the Coastal Land Trust, a local land conservation non-profit, hosts a volunteer workday. Sometimes we trim trails, remove debris, or maintain gardens. It always varies and our volunteer goal is to conserve natural properties owned or in partnership with the Coastal Land Trust for the public use.

For the month of October, Saturday the 5th, we're going to be working at Everett Creek Preserve! This property is directly adjacent to the Betty Dixon Elementary School in Sneads Ferry NC. Less than an hour from Wilmington or Jacksonville, you won't want to miss this mostly undisturbed environment. It's got bathrooms, a parking lot, lots of wild animal tracks in the mud, a pollinator garden, and a wide open long leaf pine restoration area.

After our workday, we'll take a guided hike around the property for anyone who's interested. Coastal Land Trust will bring water, gloves, hand tools, bug spray, sunscreen, snacks, and waivers for everyone to sign. All you need to bring is a positive attitude and a water bottle if you want!

Attire: Long sleeves, long pants, gloves are recommended. Closed-toe shoes are required.
