Craft volunteers make home-sewn items such as afghans, pillows, quillows, pajamas, open-in-the-back gowns and lap blankets. These crafts bring great joy to the patients and families who receive them. Crafts are made in the volunteer's home, new craft ideas are welcome and creativity is a plus.

Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice program allowing VITAS to continue personalizing, enhancing, and expanding services offered to patients and families. Through exemplifying VITAS values, Volunteers serve as patient and family advocates and are pro-active in helping to meet the needs of patients and families. VITAS integrates Volunteers into the hopsice program by actively recruiting, training, supporting, and creatively utilizing volunteers to meet patient and family needs. Volunteers and their contributions are respected and valued.
Description
Volunteers are the heart of VITAS, providing friendly, non-medical patient and family care and offering support services in the office, using their cars and from their own homes.
