AGILE International and Djimi Djama collaborate to create a prosperous, equitable, and the sustainable local community. While AGILE-International provides training and food production to ensure food security, Djimi Djama (pronounced Jimmy Jama) connect authentic African made goods to the local and global market in ONE ONLINE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE. This kind of service does not exist yet.

We are looking for an experienced and creative Social Media Specialist to join a socially responsible and impactful pair of companies. From a social media standpoint both are in a launch phase. Must be bilingual in French and English.

One is a non-profit which empowers Western African women and gives back to the community and the other is an authentic African artisan made handbag company which donates profits to the aforementioned non-profit. As a Social Media Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing a multi-faceted Social Media strategy in order to build brand awareness, create sales, drive traffic to websites, and increase engagement. You will work both with advisors of the companies who developed the strategy and the founder. The strategy leverages Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest Business, LinkedIn and Constant Contact.

Other Core Responsibilities:

  • Implement and manage social media strategy for both organizations
  • Build creative and compelling platform-relevant social media content and visuals to drive engagement.
  • Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network
  • Drive engagement for social media campaigns across necessary Accountable for producing results and clearly delivering/showcasing those results to leadership
  • Use analytics (Facebook Business, Pinterest Business, Instagram, Google Analytics) and all analytic data from paid ads/campaigns and continuously share strategic findings on how to improve social
  • Utilize all aspects of each platform as driven by analytics aka time of posts, locations, tags, type of content etc
  • Knowledge/experience with paid social/digital
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies
  • Use social media marketing tools such as Buffer or Hootsuite
  • Represent the unique identity of each organization and its products (when applicable) in the content utilized
  • Develop and maintain a consistent tone and voice per client, per channel
  • Knowledge of marketing to different audiences or willingness to learn
  • Engage with all comments, messages, requests within a defined time frame
  • Utilize platforms such as Adobe Spark, Canva, and such to create content at times
  • Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization
  • Provide constructive feedback and insight to determined metrics for each platform

Social Media Specialist job description should contain the following requirements and qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role
  • Social Media Strategist using social media for brand awareness and impressions
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, & Instagram best practices
  • Thrive in a deadline changing environment with minimal supervision while simultaneously knowing when to ask
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, & Instagram analytics and

  • Ability to take data from different sources, platforms, and individuals and synthesize it into both value added patterns and actionable insights
  • Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
  • Experience with doing audience and buyer persona research
  • Excellent multitasking skills
  • Professionalism on all fronts as you are representing our brands
