TEDXSeattle

TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxSeattle , where x = independently organized TED event.

TEDxSeattle is one of the first and longest running TEDx events in the world. Now we are proud to say it is one of the largest as well. What started in 2010 as a single-day event called TEDxRainier with an audience of 600 people has evolved into TEDxSeattle with an audience that now fills McCaw Hall’s 2,800 seat auditorium.

The TEDxSeattle organization and annual event is a 100% volunteer-run and self-supporting nonprofit and we are currently looking for a Senior Content Writer to join our team!

As a Senior Copy Editor, you will play an instrumental role in the brand and voice consistency of TEDxSeattle. You will help proofread and edit everything from speaker bios, blog posts, email copy, and more.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated ability to edit quickly and effectively
  • Collaborate with internal teams, speakers, and vendors
  • Help maintain a one-of-a-kind voice for TEDxSeattle across all channels

Projects you will work on

  • Email copy for our 11,000+ person mailing list
  • Speaker bios for our website and program
  • Speaker interviews and speaker spotlight articles

Experience Required

  • 3+ years in a professional copywriting/editing role
  • Expert writing, grammar, and fact-checking skills
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills with a track record of delivering projects on time
  • A strong eye for detail
  • Demonstrated experience creating a consistent one-of-a-kind voice

At our TEDxSeattle event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
