The Macatawa Water Festival is held on the City of Holland's Windmill Island. Numerous community partners and sponsors will come together to offer water activities and educational experiences designed to engage both young and old to learn about restoring and preserving our lake and watershed.

Visitors will be able to kayak or bike around the island, fish for trout (youth under 17yrs old), learn about native and invasive plants, make an upcycled craft, and perform water quality experiments. Meijer will provide seasonal fresh fruit from local farmers!

Volunteers are welcome. Register online or contact Joy Funk (616) 368-2847 or joy@outdoordiscovery.org for more information.

Mission Statement

The mission of the ODC Network is to create opportunities to discover the wonder of the natural world through outdoor education and recreation experiences and by protecting and connecting natural habitats and greenways for the benefit of wildlife, people, and the environment.

Description

The ODC Network is a non-profit outdoor education organization. Through its programs, demonstration areas and interpretive exhibits, we provide students and community members with up-close views of nature and learning opportunities about the West Michigan environment. Since 2000, the organization has served more than 120,000 children and adults through outdoor education and recreation programs. More than 70,000 people annually visit ODC Network sites to walk the trails and view the wildlife. Thanks to the 2009 merger of the Outdoor Discovery Center and Macatawa Greenway Partnership the organization now protects over 1,200 acres along the Macatawa River in Ottawa County and a 155 acre nature preserve in Fillmore Township.
